📜 Details of Competition 📜

Rules of Competition

  • All code for your project MUST be written during HackKU, between 9pm on April 17th and 9am on April 19th.
  • Your entire project must be written and created by only the participants of your team.
  • Your code must be made public on GitHub for judging purposes. We will use the GitHub to verify that both the above rules and deadlines of the competitions were followed. All teams may be subject to a code review.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Team Formation 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

  • Your team may consist of up to four participants. All teams will be judged by the same standards, regardless of team size.
  • All team members must be registered participants of HackKU26, have checked in, and be present for the event.
  • If you do not have a team yet, don’t worry! There will be a team formation event after Opening Ceremony to find others to hack with. Additionally, there is also a team-building channel on the Discord to find teammates.

⭐ Tracks, Challenges, Prizes ⭐

There will be multiple tracks at HackKU26: the General Track, and another mystery track. Participants can only choose ONE TRACK to submit their project on, and can compete for prizes in that track.
There will also be prizes for different challenges (including some which are sponsored). For the challenges, participants can submit to as many they would like to, regardless of which track they are competing on.
More specifics on what each track, challenge, and prize will be released at a later date!

Submission and Judging

  • All projects will be submitted on Devpost. Once we have it created, the link to HackKU’s Devpost will be here.
  • Each team competing for prizes should submit a 5 minute demo of their project on their Devpost submission. They should also give an in-person demo to judges during our judging period.
  • Even if your project is incomplete, we highly encourage you to still demo! You can still be eligible for prizes, and it is a great chance to show off your accomplishments and what you learned during HackKU!

Submission Deadlines

  • 12:00 am on Sunday, April 19th - Devpost team registration deadline
  • 9:00 am on Sunday, April 19th - Final project submission deadline

Judging Criteria

Judging will be based on both your code in your Github and Devpost submission, as well as your demo. There may be a judging rubric released at a later date, and if so, it will be posted here.

During the event, all meals will be provided free of charge! There will also be snacks and drinks available throughout the weekend! Once we have the menu and dietary restrictions, we will post them here!
